As the government eases lockdown restrictions from July 4th to include the opening of outdoor play areas as well as cafes with appropriate measures in place, Here’s a little update on our current plans…
Reading the in depth guidance regarding playgrounds regarding signage, cleanliness and social distancing, much as we would love to see children enjoying our facilities; we currently feel unable to meet the requirements set out at this stage, mainly because our play area is so closely connected to the shop and main entry and exit points from the picking fields. It is most important that we maintain a safe Pick Your Own environment, and as the most vulnerable pinch point is at entry and exit we are unable to manage volumes of both children in the play area and adults waiting while they play, as well as those entering and exiting the fields.
However as the Pick Your Own fields quieten (and in particular strawberries reduce in supply) we are exploring options in the next few days to expand our cafe offering, reopen the toilet, and perhaps offer restricted numbers into the playground, particularly when the PYO is not open… so do watch this space!
